About the Bible

Cornerstone Student Ministries is rooted and grounded on the Word of God. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. There is nothing that stands above the Word of God. It is our roadmap and instruction manual for living a godly, overcoming life.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
— John 1:1 KJV

About Salvation

Cornerstone Student Ministries believes the teaching of Jesus that all must be born again of the water and the spirit.

Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
— John 3:5 KJV

How is one born again ? We believe that the only way to be saved is by obeying Jesus' command to be born of the water and the Spirit. Throughout the New Testament, the disciples obeyed the teaching of Jesus by baptizing believers in the name of Jesus Christ. These same believers were then filled with the Spirit as evidenced through the speaking of other tongues.

Then Peter said unto them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
— Acts 2:38 KJV

We believe that once a believer has been saved, that they stay saved through living a godly, overcoming life. We do not believe, once saved always saved. You must turn your back on the world and follow Christ. One does this by separating from this world, picking up their cross, and following Jesus.

About the Church

We believe that the church is not a building, it is the people of God. The people of God are the church, and the church is alive and well. The church is not a religion, but rather it is a relationship. This relationship is the most valuable thing any human being can ever attain. It is the relationship with your creator and savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that no man is an island unto himself and that the church is invaluable in a believer's life. We believe that the church, and specifically the five fold ministry, is a gift that God has given us to help us grow in Him.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
— Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV
